Instagram is rolling out an update that extends the maximum duration of reels to 10 minutes. Owned by Meta Company, Instagram is introducing this feature to empower users to create and share longer reels. Currently, Instagram limits reels to just 1 minute.
This expansion in reel duration is expected to pose a substantial challenge to TikTok and YouTube, both major players in short-form and long-form video content. TikTok introduced this extended feature in February of the previous year. Meta acknowledges that this Reels update will be especially beneficial for content creators focusing on educational, makeup, and food-related content.
Furthermore, Meta is actively beta-testing the 10-minute reels feature, a development that suggests its commitment to providing innovative and competitive options for its users.
