Google Messages has initiated the rollout of a redesigned compose text field, featuring a dedicated shortcuts bar, as previously enabled.

In the updated design, the RCS/Text message field now aligns to the left, with an emoji button positioned first, followed by Magic Compose, gallery (sporting a new icon), and the plus button on the opposite end. The voice recorder, undergoing significant revamping with Moods, is now a standalone button outside the pill.

Notably, the left-aligned text field contrasts with the continuation of sent messages appearing on the right.

Additionally, a new UI is introduced when typing, presenting a split layout with the text field at the top and a bar housing all shortcuts on the same strip. While offering more features, this results in a slightly more complex interface that may require some adjustment.
