The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 is an enterprise-focused laptop powered by Snapdragon. It looks like other ThinkPads with a matte “Eclipse Black” color, a carbon-fiber top cover, and an aluminum bottom. The iconic red TrackPoint and a large touchpad are present.
Design and Build
The T14s measures 12.35 by 8.64 by 0.67 inches. It’s not as light or small as the X1 Carbon Gen 12. It weighs 2.66 pounds (3.23 pounds with the charger). The keyboard has tactile bumps for touch typists. It also has a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button. The new Copilot key is included.
Display
The 14-inch display has a resolution of 1920 by 1200 and 400 nits of brightness. It’s good but not as nice as the touch displays on the HP EliteBook or Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x. The T14s does not have a touch screen.
Performance
The T14s has 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. It uses the Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-78-100) processor with 12 ARM-based CPU cores and higher-end Adreno graphics. It performs well on benchmarks and scored high on PCMark 10’s Applications test with Microsoft Office.
Ports
The laptop has two USB-C 40Gbps ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and an audio jack on the left side. The right side has a Kensington security slot and two USB-A slots. It’s nice to have an HDMI port and USB-A slots.
Camera and Audio
The ThinkPad T14s has a 1080p MIPI camera with IR. It supports Windows Hello and wake-on-approach. It has a physical webcam shutter. The dual two-watt speakers and dual-microphone array provide good sound quality.
Battery Life
The ThinkPad T14s offers outstanding battery life.
Conclusion
The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 is a solid enterprise laptop with good performance, great battery life, and plenty of ports. It’s not the lightest or smallest but offers a traditional ThinkPad design and useful features.
