Microsoft is updating Windows 11 to include more generative AI features, aiming to make user experiences better.

The update, available now, adds extra functions to Copilot, Microsoft’s built-in AI tool. Users can now tell Copilot to change PC settings, test a new photo editing tool, and use plug-ins for apps like OpenTable.

These changes are part of Microsoft’s Copilot preview, showing their commitment to adding AI to all their products, not just Azure cloud services. This reflects industry efforts to use AI in PCs, including those with neural processors, to increase PC sales during a decline.

Users can access Copilot’s new features by using the Copilot key or on-screen shortcut. They can then give commands like “show battery info” or “launch live captions,” and Copilot will do it.

Commands like resizing text or using voice input make it easier for users to move around their computers. These improvements could change how people use PCs in the future.
