Big on Bugs and Fixes

The beta releases for iOS 17.6 have mainly focused on resolving issues rather than introducing new features. The release notes for the latest beta confirm this: “This update provides important bug fixes and security updates and is recommended for all users.”

Some Innovations, Too

Late in the cycle, Apple has delivered almost all the new features promised for iOS 17. Some unexpected features have been added, like ways to keep the iPhone more secure if it’s stolen by someone who knows your passcode.

We can expect smaller updates this time around. For example, a new feature confirmed in the betas is Catch Up, announced in June. It’s part of the MLS Season Pass in the Apple TV app, letting you catch up on highlights if you join a live stream already in progress.
