Samsung plans to update some older Galaxy devices next month with select AI features. The update, called One UI 6.1, will include features like Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite. This news comes from posts on Samsung’s community forum in Korea, as reported by 9to5Google and Android Central. The Verge has contacted Samsung for more information.
The update will bring a trimmed-down version of Galaxy AI to flagship phones and tablets from 2022. This includes the S22, S22 Plus, S22 Ultra, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Tab S8, and Tab S8 Ultra. These devices will get the same Galaxy AI version as the lower-priced Galaxy S23 FE. However, Instant Slow-Mo won’t be included. Instant Slow-Mo lets you play a video in slow motion with a tap. It was first introduced with the S24 line but is now available on S23 models too.
For those with flagship Samsung phones from 2021, there’s good news. The update will bring two Galaxy AI features to the S21, S21 Plus, S21 Ultra, Flip 3, and Fold 3. These features are Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite.
