With ios 18.1 beta 3, apple introduced its long-awaited ai-powered ‘clean up’ feature in the photos app. as the name suggests, clean up helps users remove unwanted objects, people, or even blemishes from their photos.
i believe clean up is the missing feature that the photos app desperately needed. it’s not perfect in its current beta version, but it shows great promise. although it’s the most exciting addition in ios 18.1 beta 3, clean up isn’t the only new feature. check out my hands-on video where i explore clean up alongside other updates and changes.
clean up in photos:
in the photos app, clean up is available when you enter edit mode. it allows users to tap, circle, or swipe to remove items within an image or screenshot, making photo editing quick and seamless.
