In iOS 18, Apple eliminates the need for a third-party app by adding call recording right into the system Phone app. When you\u2019re on a call in iOS 18, you\u2019ll see a new option to start recording. Hitting that button will immediately notify the person you\u2019re talking to that they\u2019re being recorded.<\/p>\n

Call Duration and Transcript<\/h2>\n

The call screen will show a running count of how long the recording is. Once it\u2019s complete, you can save a transcript for later reference. Call transcripts are saved into Apple Notes, so you can store them indefinitely or delete them later.<\/p>\n

AI-Powered Summaries<\/h2>\n

Apple Intelligence has a role too. On compatible devices like the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Notes will provide an AI-powered summary of the transcript.<\/p>\n

Good News for Older iPhones<\/h2>\n

Owners of older iPhones don\u2019t need to worry. The basic call transcript feature does not require Apple Intelligence. You won\u2019t need a 15 Pro to use it. Only the transcript summary uses AI.<\/p>\n
